Texas Baptist Children's Home serves children and families in crisis by providing residential programs. They are looking for volunteers to fill Christmas stockings for each child in their program with 5-6 small gifts and goodies. After signing up, TBCH will contact you with the name and age of the child(ren) you would like to sponsor along with the details of where to drop off your stockings.
Mission: Possible! Austin works with at-risk children and families in East Austin. Each year, they host HIStory, which gives people an opportunity to hear the real story of Christmas. They need volunteers to serve in a number of ways, including providing/serving refreshments and baked goods as well as helping with sound and lighting. This event will take place on four different nights (December 18th - 21st from 6-8:45pm), and volunteers can commit to one night or more. Volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a great way for families and missional communities to serve together.
Austin Children's Shelter offers a safe haven for children and youth from birth to 22 years old who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment, or neglect. They need volunteers to help with their Foster in Austin Christmas Party on Saturday, December 6th from 9:45am-3:00pm. Volunteers will help serve food and provide childcare for foster kids. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old.
Caring Family Network is a foster care and licensing agency located at the For the City Center. They are in need of gift donations for their foster children this Christmas. Upon signing up for this opportunity, you will receive a wish list from a child. All gifts need to be dropped of at the For The City Center no later than Thursday, December 4th. Please bring all gifts unwrapped.

Austin Children's Services will be coordinating the sponsorship of about 850 gifts for the youth and families who are included in our residential and prevention programs. You can help sponsor the gifts that they will open on Christmas morning! Each child will receive 5 gifts, parents will receive 2 gifts, and the families will receive a family need (such as diapers) and a family gift (something to promote healthy, familial bonding).
The Giocosa Foundation was established in 1988 as an alternative to long-term institutional care for emotionally disturbed youth and adolescents. Foster families need help providing Christmas gifts for foster children in their care. Each request will have a limit of 3 gifts for each individual child with a limit of $20 or less per gift. If you would like to sponsor more than one child, please notify the agency once they contact you.
CASA of Travis County (Court Appointed Special Advocates) speaks up for children who have been abused or neglected by empowering the community to volunteer as their advocates in the court system, at school, with doctors, and in the community. This Christmas, they need volunteers to provide $30 gift cards to Walmart or Target. These gift cards will be given to the foster children they support. Please be sure to write the amounts on all of the gift cards.
Caring Family Network is a foster care and licensing agency located at the For the City Center. This Christmas, they would like to provide each of their foster families with a gift basket. The basket could include items for a night out for the foster parents (movie tickets, candy, etc), a game night with the whole family (candy, snacks, board games), or a self care basket. The suggested amount for each basket is around $50.
